Australia Inward Investment Programme (AIIP)

During 2002 ACCCI organised the First AIIP Roadshow through China –- some of the speeches are already on the Website in English and Chinese –- visiting the cities of Fuzhou, Wuhan, Nanjing, Jinan and Beijing.

The highlight seminar was in Beijing attended by almost 300 business leaders and company representatives.  The President of ACCCI Mr Michael C.H. Jones is pictured below addressing the seminar on the 25th April 2002 at the Beijing Capital Hotel.  It was an all-day function starting at 9.00 am and ending at 5.30 pm.

Seated at the left of the table is Mr Zhang Fan, Deputy Director, Department of American and Oceania Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, The People's Republic of China, Beijing, who officially opened the "Invest in Australia" seminar.

During 2003 ACCCI is planning a Second AIIP Roadshow in China to the cities of Hefei, Qingdao, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi'an and Zhengzhou.

The process and procedures of linking small to medium size companies in China wishing to invest in profit potential Australian based companies, particularly in the area of innovation and technology commercialisation, is proving a challenging and very rewarding initiative by Chamber.
